IMPORTANT NOTES - PLEASE READ BEFORE LINKING ACCOUNTS
The account linking process will link your Klei Accounts from different platforms together, allowing you to use your items from other platforms while those accounts are linked.
You can only link a single account per platform (one Steam account, one PlayStation account, etc) and you should only do this with accounts that you own. These entitlements will not be transferred to linked accounts but rather you will be given a read-only copy which cannot be turned into Spool or otherwise modified.
Additionally, Bolts (Premium Currency) cannot be shared between platforms. Klei Points and Spools will not be shared or transferred to linked accounts, and will stay in their original account.
You will be able to reverse the linking procedure if you make a mistake, but to avoid abuse you must wait 30 days before trying again.
If you are using a public computer or one you share with other people, you may want to use your browser's "Incognito Window" function (or equivalent) to ensure you are linking your own accounts and not someone else's.
How to link accounts and access shared unlocks on multiple platforms:
1) Visit https://accounts.klei.com/ and log in using your Klei account.
2) Once signed in to your Klei account, click on the “LINK OR UNLINK AN ACCOUNT” option in your “SETTINGS” tab on your Klei Accounts page.
Here you will see the list of platforms that you can link to your Klei account. Successfully linked accounts will be indicated with a green “LINKED” indicator. Click on the “LINK ACCOUNT” button for the platform account that you would like to link to your Klei account.
For this example, we will link a Nintendo Online Account to our Steam account.
3) On the "LINK OR UNLINK AN ACCOUNT" page, click the "LINK ACCOUNT" button next to the platform you want to link your account to.
This will take you to a page with important information before starting the account linking process. Please read this thoroughly, and click on the "CONTINUE" button to begin the account linking process.
4) On the next page, the platform you would like to link to will ask for your login information, log in using your account credentials for that platform, if you were not logged in previously.
(Please be aware if you have multiple accounts on that platform, ENSURE that you are logging in using the account you really want, to avoid errors.)
5) If the sign-ins for both Klei accounts that you would like to link are successful, you should see the page as shown below.
NOTE: If you encounter any errors on this page, you will see a warning similar to the image below. Please read the directions to resolve each issue, and then click on the “FIX WARNINGS” button and you will be directed to the Account settings page to fix the issue.
For example, if you encounter an error message similar to the image below, please ensure that both Klei accounts that you would like to link are both using the same email address and that you have verified the email address for each Klei account separately.
6) If there are no errors, and when ready to continue linking your accounts, read through the Consent information, fill in the Confirm text box, and finally, click on the “LINK ACCOUNTS” button when you are ready, and the page will begin the linking process.
Please DO NOT close or exit the Klei Accounts page; let the linking process complete. Closing or exiting while the account linking process is happening may cause issues with the both accounts.
7) If the account linking process was successful, then you should see the page as shown below. Navigate to your Klei Account once more.
8) You now have successfully linked the accounts and shared unlocks between both!
